Stena Line Limited

The company Stena Line operates various passenger and vehicle ferries. The ferry connections on the Irish Sea are referred to as Stena Line Limited (SLL) in the context of FIP.

The service between Harwich (United Kingdom) and Hoek van Holland (Netherlands) is operated as a separate FIP operator, Stena Line BV (StL).

Ferry services on the Irish Sea do not differentiate between categories. Depending on the route, different ships with varying amenities are used.

FIP is accepted on the following routes:

• Holyhead – Dublin Bay
• Fishguard – Rosslare
• Cairnryan – Belfast
• Liverpool – Belfast

There is only one class on the ships with regard to FIP.

Depending on the route and ship, there are various options for lounges and cabins to choose from. No FIP discount is granted on lounges and cabins. ¹

FIP tickets must be purchased before the journey. Purchase on board the ships is not possible. FIP only grants a discount on the fare; all additional services are charged at full price. These include, among others, cabin reservation costs, vehicle transport, as well as port fees and environmental charges. With a FIP Coupon, the fare is free of charge.

The costs can be viewed on the Stena Line website before booking. To do this, first visit the Stena Line website (UK). If you want prices in Euro, select the appropriate language at the bottom of the homepage.

In the next step, you need to switch to the old booking system. The new booking system does not show a detailed cost breakdown.

Then you can proceed through the booking steps. When choosing the fare, you can select Flexi or Economy.

After selecting all desired additional options and cabins, you will receive a cost breakdown in the sidebar. With a FIP Coupon, the travel costs (listed as Economy or Flexi) are set to 0, while the remaining amount stays the same. Therefore, the travel costs can simply be subtracted to determine the costs with a FIP Coupon.

As of 25.02.2026, port fees are £ 1,50 and environmental charges are £ 2,00 per person per crossing. In addition, there are cabin costs and other additional options, which are charged at full price.

Children up to 4 years travel free of charge, children aged 4 to 16 are entitled to a 50% discount on the adult fare, from 16 years they pay the adult fare. ¹
